30 Sep Superbiker 2024: The countdown is on.
The 37th edition of the biggest Supermoto event is underway, in just 4 days’ time, from 4 to 6 October 2024, on the legendary Mettet circuit.
This year’s Superbiker’s entry list is sold out once again, with over 400 riders taking part! The world’s best drivers have taken part in this legendary event for many years, and this year will be no exception.
Among the protagonists of this event are of course Marc-Reiner Schmidt, the S1GP title holder and last year’s winner. The German arrives in Mettet leading the championship with a 48 points lead over his rival Thomas Chareyre, eight-time S1GP world champion. Nothing is decided between the two favourites, especially as Romain Kaivers, sixth overall, will be keen to shine on home soil. In SM Junior, three points separate Yevsevii Kovalov, Nathan Terraneo and Andrea Benvenuti at the top of the overall standings. The battle promises to be fierce at Mettet!
Other categories are on the weekend’s programme. Leading the way is the Prestige category with Roméo Fiorentino, Kevin Vieillevoye and Sébastien Bouillon. In the StarBiker category, there’s David Checa, well known in the world of motorbike endurance and speed, Pearce Bronson and Todd Davey. In the Junior class, Valentin Durand, Tom Rolin and Lucas Fisette will be keeping a very close eye on each other. Lastly, in the Senior category, Frédéric Fiorentino, four times winner of the Superbiker, will be racing!
Find out below who will be competing in the Prestige, Seniors, Juniors, Quads and Supermoto categories, not forgetting the Starbiker class.
The programme will feature stunt and FMX performances by the best riders in the sport. Headliners include David Tharan on his quad bike and Alex Porsing, world record holder for the longest backflip. Speedway demonstrations will be held during all the week-end over the three days.
A new concept! The Fan Zone, an area especially designed to offer a variety of activities and entertainment. Come and meet the drivers, get autographs and enjoy the exhibitors’ stands. For a more refined break, the champagne bar will be there to offer you a moment of relaxation. On Friday and Saturday evenings, extend the party at the After Race Festival from 6.30pm.
Throughout the weekend, you can try your hand at the wheelie simulator on a Ducati Hypermotard, or let your children discover the feeling of supermoto with some electric mini-supermoto bikes. Bouncy castles will also be on hand to entertain the little ones.
And let’s not forget the Sudinfo running of the Superbiker which, for its second edition, will take place on Friday evening at the circuit. Information and online registration here.
